tcSpeeds offers valuable features to analyze and enhance your sailing experience. It provides detailed insights such as current speed, average speeds, maximum speed, directional speeds, velocity made good, and wind measurements. The proprietary Pilot Performance Index (PPI) allows you to evaluate your performance on a straight course and compare it with others.
One of the advantages of tcSpeeds is its independence from external hardware or connections, utilizing your device's internal GPS, accelerometers, and compass. For wind measurement, the integration of the Calypso Ultrasonic Wind sensor is necessary, with plans to support additional sensors in the future.
Designed for iPhones and GPS-equipped iPads, tcSpeeds is easy to use to reduce user operational burden. It requires zero setup; simply install the app, launch it, and tap the start button.

Other features include maximum speed tracking with alarms, trip distance recording, accurate sub-second timer, GPS status display, Pilot Performance Index (PPI) calculation guidance, target course indicators with manual fine-tuning options, headings and bearings display in magnetic or true orientation, real-time cross track reporting, metric conversion capabilities, detailed map features with Look-Ahead-Vector (LAV), velocity made good (VMG) relative to waypoint calculations, integrated compass functionalities like Course Over Ground (COG), crab angles, and local magnetic declination information.
